Football Seeks More Wins in Playoffs

First Post-Season Play in a Decade

We have officially made it to the football playoffs after 10 years. With this major accomplishment we have needed even more from our Chaparral Cowboys football players, and they have definitely delivered!

The first game that have determined anything for our playoff games was the Cowboys against the Sunrise Mountain Miners. We did not win this game with a score of 21-26 leaving us to play the following week against Del Sol Dragons, giving the Miners the advantage of getting a week off to prepare for the second round of playoff games.

The following week put the Chaparral Cowboys against the Del Sol Dragons. With us on a easy win of a score of 18-0! We blew those Dragons back home where they belong! We had an amazing game giving the Cowboys the energy they need to go into this next round of playoffs against the Canyon Spring Pioneers! They won their first playoff game against the Valley Vikings with a score of 41-0, leaving them to stand with us in the 2nd round of playoffs. This just makes our Chaparral Cowboys hungry for this win!

The last game the Cowboys had against the Canyon Springs Pioneers we were up all the way into the 4th Quarter! Until the Cowboys got comfortable and started fumbling touchdowns leaving the Pioneers with space and opportunity and they did not miss! They scored two touchdowns in the last quarter, with our ending score at 21-13!

Don’t worry Chaparral Cowboys, we’re going into Friday’s game with a clear headspace, and the mindset of Winners! See you Friday at Canyon Springs! Come out and cheer on your Chaparral Cowboys!

This is Shyla Marble. She is 15, and will be turning 16 at the end of August, She is a Virgo! She was born in Las Vegas, Nevada. It is very hot in Nevada, so she picked up hobbies like Swimming, and Dancing. She enjoys these things very much. There are other things she does enjoy which are things she is currently doing such as School and Cheering for her school's Cheer Team. She attends Chaparral High School located on the Eastside of Las Vegas. She is currently sitting at a 2.8 overall GPA working towards graduating with Honors. Outside of school she picks up a natural skill for braiding hair which takes up the rest of the free time that she does have. She enjoys it and that is also the way that she picks up extra cash along the way since she does not work, so that is what she does full time in her free time! She loves her family and boyfriend. They keep her motivated to keep pushing and be at her highest potential while she is doing her best to accomplish these things!

Marasia Underwood, commonly referred to as Skyy, is currently a junior at Chaparral High School. She has been actively involved with the Chaparral Express News for the past two years, where she is one of the main sports reporters. Despite her passion for journalism, her ultimate ambition is to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree at Texas Southern University. In addition to her academics, Skyy is also actively engaged in multiple sports. She mainly shines in volleyball but also does flag football and track. She is going to continue to play during her senior year as well.
