Nevada Reading Week Book Besties

Jacqueline Castillo Saldana, Staff Reporter

The best book I’ve read so far is The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo o. I like how in the novel the main character shows what it cost her to become famous, what she had to to do to be famous, what she had to leave and why she had seven husbands.

I like how she says she felt as a child having a body developed at an early age and how that helped and hurt her. It shows how difficult it was having a relationship with someone of the same sex. I cried a lot while reading this book because I got closer to the characters and the death of several of them made me sad. Apart from that, it hurt me to read how Evelyn was affected and how their deaths affected the other characters in the story. I feel that many books, like this one leave the reader with lessons learned, or the discovery of why we react in certain ways to what life gives us each day.

The best book I have read is the novel It Ends with Us which is the second part to It Starts with Us by Colleen Hoover. It would be the best book I have read because of the teaching that the book leaves behind.

I like how the story is expressed with a delicate subject, and I feel that it describes it quite well. It shows how the relationship between her parents affects the daughter and that it also shows how the protagonist loves her father because he is her father and she is her daughter, but as a person, she despises him for what he did. I like that he doesn’t try to justify what he did and that he sees things as they are good or bad. The book shows how hard it was for the protagonist to adapt to her circumstances.

The other characters finally stop justifying Rylee because of what happened to him in childhood. I feel that I also needed to stop trying to justify him for what had happened to him because everything he did is not right. There are many people have had a bad time and that is not a justification to hurt someone.
