Celebrating Our Seniors

Kaydence Bennett, Chaparral Express Contributor

Our seniors are officially done. Next week they will celebrate their graduation and the culmination of 12 years of school. Adulthood is knocking on the door. Open it and enjoy the adventure!

The following are written by and for members of the Chaparral High School Class of 2023

Clowns
By Kaydence Bennet

If I could tell you everything I see, I would

They say the same people should be in your best dreams
And your worst nightmares
My dreams of being happy include you
My nightmares have clowns, and your hair reminds me of them

You may tease me for my fear of Clowns
But I finally found a reason good enough for you

Your hair reminds me of a Clown
Clowns make kids at a party happy, but they have to leave
My life is a party and you’re my Clown
Will you leave me too?
Will you be the clown that lives with me, so you never leave forever?

Even though I have a fear of Clowns
You are the only Clown I can Look in the eyes and say I missed you
So, show up to all my celebrations
Haunt my dreams with your smile
And suffocate me with your hugs
