My Take on Teen Love

My Take on Teen Love

Sarayah Copeland, Staff Reporter

Teenage love and relationships is a very hard, but beautiful thing. Experiencing a love is a part of the growing, and maturing process, and helps shape your identity, and life.

Loving a person is something very serious to me, I don’t use that word carelessly, and when I say it I mean it. Love is an extremely vulnerable thing, to open your heart to another person, you have to trust them enough to be intimate and share things. Everyone is capable of love, but I don’t think everyone is worthy, or able to maintain it. Most teenagers don’t even fully know themselves, or how to love themselves, let alone give that to another.

Teenage love the way I see it is a very real, scary, and rare experience. To truly have a love at this age, as long at it is meaningful and special to you is few and far between, even if things don’t work out. You grow together, and separately and learn together how to love, to be loved and how capable you are. Teen love to me is not a simple, or an easy thing, and I see it as something very significant in life.
