The World Cup is the biggest sport competition in the world. The World Cup is a tournament that countries try to compete to win for their country. This competition only happens every four years. The World Cup is being hosted in Qatar right now. It is being held at this time of year, because the host country is very hot, and that would be dangerous for the competitors to play in the summer heat.
This year’s world cup is really crazy. There are so many big countries that have lost to some small countries. As a Mexican, I was hoping to see them go far in this tournament, but like I said this World Cup is really unpredictable. Mexico actually lost in the group stage sadly, but now I have my hopes on Argentina winning the World Cup because they are really strong and look really good.
The last World Cup champion was France. The teams set to try to make it to the finals this time around are: Argentina, Croatia, France and Morocco. This is exciting because it is the first time that an African country has made it this far! And France has an opportunity to make a two-peat!
The World Cup all started on July 13,1930 in Uruguay and the winner of that World Cup was the host Uruguay. It truly is a world-wide experience with fans in some countries taking time off from their jobs to watch their country participate. The country that has the most World Cup title is Brazil with five championship trophies.
The next World Cup is happening in Mexico, the United States, and Canada in 2026. There are set locations around each country where the games will be and trust me I’m going to be in the audience. World Cup because this is once in a lifetime experience, unless you have money to go every four years.
