As long as I’ve been drawing, I’ve always wondered how other artists develop their art styles. Honestly, I think mine takes elements from the anime I used to watch, and J-fashion. Also the styles of Visual Kei bands that I like.
Idalia Mujica Vargas, a Chaparral sophomore, is also a very talented artist. Her art style contains more Gothic components, so I want to know more about where it may stem from.
“I draw because I can spend time drawing my silly characters. Characters from video games and fandoms inspire me the most,” said Mujica Vargas. “My favorite kind of art styles are realism and fantasy, similar to Final Fantasy concept art. Switching between art styles and forgetting which one’s my own makes me forget what kind of style is my art.”
She added what influences her style the most are Final Fantasy, Omori, Death Note, and a bit of Bloodborne.
Artists! Who or what influences you the most?
